Independent Study: U.S. History I & U.S. History II
Dear Parents and Students:
TRA Social Science Department will allow Independent Contract for the following courses: United States History I and United History II. The courses will only be offered for one credit of the course.
The course grade will be added to the final transcription upon completion. Each student is responsible for the course work at the required time. No late assignments will be accepted.
Complete contract and submit fee to enroll. Fees must be paid before student is enrolled in course.
All contracts must be returned no later than January 20, 2009. All checks must be made payable to: Taylor Road Academy.
All assignments for the I.S. Course and Test must be submitted for credit no later than 4/20/2009, if all work is not submitted zeros will be given for missed assignments.

- 2' 3 ring binder (with pockets)

- Sheet protector (for grade sheet, classroom rules ect.)
- Internet Access/current e-mail address

World History (8th Grade)
- 2' 3 Ring Binder (with pockets)
- Notebook Paper
- (2) 4 x 6 ruled index cards
- Blue/black pens (only)
- Sheet protector (for grade sheet, classroom rules, ect.)
- (2) Composition notebooks
- Highlighter (any color)
- Internet Access/current e-mail address
- (2) Bottles of Hand Sanitizer

Parents and students please review the below information. This information covers: classroom rules, absences, late work, and make-up assignments.
Students will be provided a Letter of Receipt that must be signed and returned on or before August 15, 2009. By signing this Letter of Receipt, parents and students acknowledge that student will be governed by the rules and regulations in Ms. Douglas's class.
Absences and Late Work:
Students are responsible for making up work do to absences. All in class an homework assignments can be found on the website : http://pdouglas07.googlepages.com/home . After an absence it is the student's responsibility to check the website, get any handouts and turn in missed assignment within 3 days of returning to school. I will not remind the students to do this.
LATE WORK will not be accepted. I do understand that sometimes circumstances are beyond the students control. Therefore, if a situation arises it is the students responsibility to speak to me regarding the issue. I will make a decision and advise the student what to to do about the missed assignment.
Parents please encourage your child to complete all assignments in a timely manner thereby minimizing the issue of late assignments.
Class Room Rules:

Come to class on time-Standing outside the door and rushing in after the bell has begun to ring will constitute a tardy. You must be INSIDE the door when it begins ringing to be counted on time.

Attend to personal needs before coming to class-

Remain in your assigned seat at all times, unless you have permission to get up

No eating or drinking in class at anytime

Bring required materials everyday unless otherwise instructed
